Plenty of Representatives of ASEAN Countries Governments Attended Online Workshop

    On 29 April 2020, an online workshop themed “utilising social media to promote national image” had been held . Mr. Yang Yanxin, General Manager and Mr. Han Xuyang, Chief Editor of Social Media Operation Department of Sina.com, were invited to make a presentation. H.E. Pehin Dato Rahmani Dato Basir, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to China, attended the event among over 30 officials in charge of information, culture, tourism and education affairs from embassies of all the ten ASEAN Member States (AMS) to China, as well as media officials from ASEAN-China Center(ACC). The workshop gave an overview of the latest development of social media in China,

    shared some hands-on experience through case studies and discussions on how to promote national image through social media platforms, and gave quite a few useful tips on PR management of crisis and fake news.   AMS officials appreciated this workshop, saying that it had helped them better understand the operation of social media in China and offered valuable reference on how to better interact with Chinese netizens by providing accurate information in a timely manner and arranging diverse online activities. They expressed expectations that ACC would organise more activities of this kind.
